Sacandaga Outdoor Center
The Sacandaga Outdoor Center is proud to have been chosen as the river manager of the Sacandaga Whitewater Recreational Program since its inception in 1992. With daily releases of water provided by Brookfield Renewable Power, we are able to ensure whitewater trips six time a day, seven days a week, from Memorial Day to Columbus Day.
The Sacandaga River is a beautiful 4-mile stretch of class II and III whitewater with breathtaking scenery. Located just minutes from Lake George and saratoga, the Sacanda River offers a great whitewater rafting adventure as well as a perfect way to take a brea from the summer heat and crowded amusement parks. The warm water and exciting ride are ideal for both begier ad experienced rafters, making this the ideal family outing. If you are looking for more advetnrue, be sure to take a trip on a tube, ducky (infatable kayak), or sit-on-top whitewaer kayak, no experience necessary.
The Sacanda is controlled by a dam on the Great Sacandaga Lake, withich enables the river to have the exact same flow every day regardless of rainfall. This gives every one a chance to enjoy nature’s water park all summer long
