The Saratoga Performing Arts Center, otherwise known as simply SPAC, is one of Upstate New York’s largest performance venues and has been since the 1960’s. Located in the center of beautiful Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs, visitors & locals enjoy various musical concerts, cultural programs & community festivals. For over 40 years, SPAC has hosted some of the most amazing musical artists of all time – including Ray Charles, Janis Joplin, Johnny Mathis, Peter, Paul & Mary, Judy Collins and Arlo Guthrie, Chicago, The Who, The Grateful Dead, Neil Diamond, James Taylor, Liberace, Beach Boys, Sonny & Cher, Don McLean & Pink Floyd. This year, for the 2011 season, visitors will take pleasure in performances by Peter Gabriel, Def Leppard with Heart, Motley Crue with Poison, Train & Maroon 5, Kings of Leon, Journey, and Toby Keith.
SPAC is not only popular for their big headliners, but for also hosting the New York City Ballet, Saratoga Chamber Music Festival, Opera Saratoga, and The Philadelphia Orchestra. This year, special guest & Saratoga Springs native, actor David Hyde Pierce, will narrate one of The Philadelphia Orchestra’s performances. There will also be a live orchestral performance to the special showing of the film Casablanca.
