Earth Day is on Friday April 22nd, and it is the official day of promoting environmental protection, sustainability and education – and has been since 1970. In celebration of Earth Day, communities throughout the country (and the world) will be providing enjoyable and educational activities and events for individuals and families throughout the week – which is known as Earth Week. The Lake George Region, specifically the Saratoga and Bolton areas, will be apart of this global tradition, offering quality “green” activities and events during this week (April 16- 23, 2011) that include the following: A Recycled Art Show, Earth Day Family Festival, Electronic Recycling Day, ECO Day, Carbon Footprints Exhibit, plus a variety of demonstrations, cleanups and more. Area organizations/locations offering these events are: Saratoga National Historical Park in Stillwater, Hudson Crossing Park in the towns of Saratoga and Northumberland, The Saratoga Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs, The Children’s Museum in Saratoga Springs, Up Yonda Farm Environmental Education Center in Bolton Landing, and the Lake George Land Conservancy in Bolton Landing.
