Peace Pipe Fishing Outfitters
The main objective of fishing is to relax and have fun. Charter fishing should enable anglers of all skills-from beginner to expert- to learn more about fishing and learn more about the particular body of water they are fishing on.
Lake George, known as the Queen of American Lakes, although heavily trafficked, is amazingly clean. Because of this, the fishing is excellent year round.
Species inhibiting the Lake are Perch, Northern Pike, Pickerel, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Rock Bass, Crappie, Sunfish, Bullhead, Lake Trout and Land-Locked Salmon.
The species mainly targeted by the charter boats are Lake Trout, Salmon and Bass; however, they will fish for anything you want. Lake Trout and Salmon charters generally run for 4 to 5 hours. Fishing for these species usually includes trolling with downriggers or a copper wire ring. Equipment is provided by your captain. There are many methods of catching these fish and are all legitimate. Remember the object is to learn and have fun; catching fish is a bonus.
Finding the right guide is important to having a good fishing experience. Y ou can call several guides and select the one you feel is most knowledgeable and who you are the most comfortable with. You can also check with local chambers of commerce, or visit any of the various outfitters or sport shops in the area. They generally work with many guides and can save you time matching the correct charter with your needs.
Several items that should accompany you are: A New York State fishing license, sufficient food and drink, soft soled shoes, sun tan lotion, a hat, and plenty of enthusiasm.
Remember, that you’re not here for a long time; but you are here for a good time. Good Luck!
