Charles R. Wood was a philanthropist and founder of the Great Escape Fun Park. He and actor/philanthropist Paul Newman were founders of “Double H Ranch” – a camp for children afflicted with childhood diseases which prevent their attendance at other camps. The ranch is on the site of the former 300-acre Hidden Valley Resort and Conference Center in Lake Luzerne.
