The New York State Museum is Albany’s most popular attraction with over 750,000 visitors each year. As major research and educational institution for geology, biology, anthropology and the history of New York, it features a variety of permanent and changing exhibits, special programs, activities and events on the natural, cultural and human history of New York for children and adults. Carousel, Museum Cafe and Museum Shop available. Museum open daily 9:30AM – 5PM (Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day). Admission is free (donation accepted).
