Experience the history of the Adirondacks in one great “Outdoor Museum.” Called “The Smithsonian of the Adirondacks” by National Geographic Traveler, and “The best of its kind in the world” by the New York Times, the museum is spread across 32 acres overlooking Blue Mountain Lake with 24 buildings and historic structures. A changing variety of events, hands-on family activities and exhibitions tell the story of the Adirondacks from the mid-1800s to the present. Museum store and Lake View Café. Enjoy the beautiful drive (only an hour) from Lake George. Open daily 10am-5pm (end of May – mid October).
