Come visit us at the heart of the Adirondacks for a truly unique museum experience. Since opening our doors to the public in 1957, we have delighted millions of visitors with fascinating exhibits and stories about life in the Adirondack region. With over 23 historical and contemporary buildings on 121 acres overlooking Blue Mountain Lake, our open air campus offers everyone lots to see and do. Step into the rich history of our region as you row or paddle a vintage wooden boat from the new ADKX Boathouse, break up a logjam or set off a mine charge in Life in the Adirondacks. Explore our many interactive exhibits on Adirondack culture and history, or find inspiration in our art galleries.

NEW THIS SEASON
ADKX BOATHOUSE
Follow our easy ¾-mile hiking trail to the newly constructed Adirondack-style boathouse — home to a fleet of vintage wooden craft including classic guideboats and canoes. Or, simply enjoy a picnic lunch at the boathouse along the shores of this “gem in the wilderness.”
CURIOUS CREATURES
Explore the curious role of stuffed animals and taxidermy oddities in this 100-piece exhibit from several private Adirondack collections as well as the museums’ own holdings. Cabinets of curiosities, unique mounted creatures, deer hoof inkwell, and a tableaux of animals engaged in human activities are part of this extraordinary exhibit on display for one season only.

Explore 19th century Adirondack landscape paintings from private collections as well as a selection of the museum’s own works.
HIGHLIGHTS
Experience the people, place, and spirit of this 6-million acre park, all within 19,000 square feet of interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and culturally rich collections. This core exhibition is every visitor’s starting point and includes a theater and five major galleries dedicated to various aspects of Adirondack past and present: 1) Call of the Wilderness, 2) A Peopled Wilderness, 3) Roughing It, 4) Adirondack Tough: Working in the Wilderness, and 5) Our Adirondack Park.
Boats and Boating: You won’t want to miss seeing an iconic Adirondack guideboat amid our extensive collection of Adirondack guide boats and canoes.
Minnow Pond Trail: Explore our ¾ of a mile scenic trail to the serene Minnow Pond. You can even catch a guided hike available on select days!
Outdoor exhibits: Climb the Whiteface Fire Tower, lounge in our Rustic Gazebo, or strike a pose upon our super-size Adirondack chair.
Historic buildings: Explore Sunset Cottage and Reising Schoolhouse, or climb aboard the Marion River Carry train.

Admission
The museum will reopen on Friday, May 24 and close Monday, October 14, 2019.
Daily admission is $20 for adults; $18 for seniors; $12 for youths and students with a valid student ID; and free for children five and under, active military personnel, and members. All paid admissions are good for a second visit the next day. Free admission to Adirondack Park residents on 2nd and 4th Sundays.
