Displayed artifacts feature the history of life in Essex County and the central Adirondacks from the past two centuries. These include special events and exhibits, artifacts form 18th century forts at Crown Point, 1887 Concord stagecoach, 1850’s Washington printing press, 1920’s stage curtain advertising area businesses, antique doll collection,iron bobsled from 1932 Olympic Games, Adiorndack lean-t0, and a 58 food Adirondack Mountain Fire Tower – which visitors can climb to the top for a spectacular view of nearby mountains. The Colonial Garden, patterned after Colonial Williamsburg, has a beautiful display of perennials, native plants, trees, shrubs, and annuals adjacent to the museum. Enjoy special exhibits, research library, online bookstore, and public programs. Open Mon.- Sat. 10AM-5PM daily (May through mid-October). Admission: Adults – $5; Seniors – $4; Students – $2; and children (ages 6 and under) are free.
