The Lake George Region Women for W.I.N., formerly Lake George Business & Professional Women (or simply B.P.W.), is a group of women that are dedicated in helping “Women in Need” and their families in the Lake George Region Community. For over 25 years, the “Lake George Region Women for W.I.N” have held fundraising events to help those in need. The women that they help may be the sole support of a family, living alone, elderly, married, divorced, or widowed; and 100% of the proceeds raised provide these women & their families with food, fuel, clothing, expenses, supplies, and so much more!
Each year, numerous cases are submitted by a variety of sources including churches, schools, and agencies; which then are carefully & confidentially reviewed by the “Women in Need” committee. The budget for these cases are solely relied on private donations & fundraiser events. The number of cases that are taken on completely depend on the amount of money raised for the year.
The major “Women in Need” fundraiser is the Holiday Party & Auction, always held in the month of December. Please attend! If you cannot attend, monetary donations are accepted all year long. Any amount helps!
Holiday Party & Auction – Dec. 15, 2011
On Thursday, December 15, 2011, enjoy the 26th annual Holiday Party & Auction with Christmas music (provided by “Spellbound” featuring Robert Noah & Cyndie Wade), sit down dinner (choice of prime rib, chicken scampi, Italian platter, or stuffed fillet of sole), a silent auction & spectacular live auction (gifts & gift certificates donated by local businesses & professionals) with auctioneer Cyndie Wade Wood. If you would like to attend, please bring an unwrapped gift or gift certificate to be auctioned off. If you can not make the dinner, come for the auction only. If you can not make the auction, you can donate a gift to be auctioned or a donation can be made. Any amount if helpful. The Holiday Party & Auction will take place at Mario’s Restaurant on Canada Street in Lake George Village. Cocktails start at 5PM, silent auction from 5-6PM, dinner at 6PM, and live auction is from 6:15PM through the evening. Dinner is $25 (includes tax & tip).
