• Ticonderoga Cartoon Museum

    Within the Ticonderoga Community Building, located in the center of Ticonderoga, is a unique museum housing over 700 political and comic cartoons offering “miles of smiles” and study. Browse through your favorite comic characters and delve into cartoon history. Comic encyclopedias are also available for serious research. There is also a 300-book library. Exhibits, traveling shows, demonstrations, and workshops are also on-going. All of this delightful display is the result of over 50 years of collecting by director Stan Burdick.

    Ongoing Exhibit

    Large cutout comic figures by master craftsman Arto Monaco (Make-Believe Village); Sid Couchey’s “Richie Rich and Friends”; Thomas Nast defeated “Boss” Tweed via cartoon; Charles Dana Gibson’s famous “Gibson Girls”; upcoming star cartoonists (could be you), the art of Walt Disney; Chuck Jones and others: Fantasy Art with Frazetta and others; making cells from animation movies; original editorial cartoon display from Lake Champlain Weekly (drawn by the director, Stan Burdick).

    Group tours are welcome for school, clubs, community organizations, scouts, seniors and others.
    Donation at door: Adults $4, Children $3. Reduced group rates. Membership available.
    Open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 2-4PM and other times by appointment. April to November.
