How is pure maple syrup made? Tour some Adirondack maple sugar houses & farms to find out! Maple sugaring, as they call it, is the process of turning the sap from maple trees to delicious maple sugar & syrup by tapping, collecting & boiling it. If you would like to experience this unique method, don’t miss out on the many maple sugar house tours every weekend in March. Saturdays from 1-2PM, kids & their families can tour Up Yonda Farm Environmental Education Center in Bolton Landing; and every Saturday & Sunday in Thurman NY, experience “Thurman Maple Days,” where four maple sugar farms open their doors to the public for families to enjoy maple demonstrations, activities, pancake breakfasts, and maple tastings/samplings.
