Saturdays & Sundays in February
Get outside, and enjoy the beautiful winter season in Lake George! There’s no better or fun way to enjoy the Adirondack winter life than through experiencing the annual Lake George Winter Carnival, a wonderful Lake George tradition that occurs every Saturday and Sunday during the month of February. It’s all about unique outdoor fun for the entire family! Please note that each weekend’s schedule will be custom modified (by the Lake George Winter Carnival Committee) to accommodate any lack of snow & ice (quite uncommon, but not unusual). Please scroll down to find scheduled events and enjoy the 51st Annual Lake George Winter Carnival!
Location? Most events take place at Shepard Park on Canada Street and on Beach Road (unless otherwise indicated):
Weekend 1:
Feb. 4 & 5, 2012
Let the games begin! This is the official jump start weekend to the 1st Winter Carnival weekend for 2012. Just because there’s a bit less snow & ice than expected, that doesn’t mean things are slowing down. You will still enjoy a great winter weekend packed full of family friendly events! Weekend 1 specialty events include: Opening ceremonies, chili cook-off, outhouse races, Winter Carnival Family Parade.
Weekend 2:
Feb. 11 & 12, 2012:
More outdoor family fun along the southern basin of Lake George continues to the second weekend of February… during the 2012 Lake George Winter Carnival. Weekend 2 specialty events include: BBQ cook-offs, Restaurant/Tavern Competition (hosted by Mario’s Restaurant), and the LGWC Polar Golf Tournament.
Weekend 3:
Feb. 18 & 19, 2012
Although some events, including the car and motorcycle races, have been cancelled due to the lack of snow & ice, there is still a full schedule of activities planned and modified for the weekend.
