The Saratoga and North Creek Railway is a classic excursion train as well as a passenger rail train that travels along the upper stretches of the Hudson River in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, with seven stops between its destinations in North Creek and Saratoga Springs. The rail line provides easy access to many towns in the region ranging from remote natural settings for hiking, river activities and scenic photo stops to friendly villages complete with dining, museums, shopping and special events. Great dining options and snack services are also available on board (varies with itinerary) on luxury dome cars or comfortable coach cars.
Trains operate 7 days a week Memorial Weekend through the end of October. Many 2013 special events this fall & winter season include: “Teddy Roosevelt Rides Again” September 13-15, “Leviathan Steam Engine Special Excursion” September 14-15, and “The Polar Express” – select departures November through January. Also during the winter months, don’t miss out on the “Snow Train” – offering scenic winter excursions as a direct link to ski slopes and North Creek Village’s activities, shops and restaurants.
