For a safe, memorable adventure, Sacandaga Outdoor Center (S.O.C.) is the area’s premiere family destination. From Rafting, Tubing to Kayaking, Canoeing and Stand Up Paddle Boarding, there are trips for everyone… from Mild to Wild! Cool off this spring & summer! Paddle the best white water, using the best guides, the best equipment, the best prices, and the best location. Tube with the biggest and best outfitter on the Sacandaga and Hudson Rivers. Bring your whole group and have fun. The S.O.C. staff photographer captures everyone in the middle of the best rapids. Also, take advantage of their Riverside Parking – no post-paddle trek to your car is necessary because our lot is right at the take-out.
Fun S.O.C. Options:
• The Sacandaga River
Offers four miles of thrilling whitewater (class II and II) action for the whole family. Choose from rafting, tubing, sit on top kayaks or inflatable kayaks (solo or tandem). Experience the original thrill ride! The warm water and bouncy ride are ideal for both beginner and experienced rafters, making a trip down the Sacandaga the ideal family outing. If you’re looking for more adventure, take a trip on a tube, inflatable kayak or sit-on-top kayak. Enjoy nature’s waterpark all summer long, rain or shin.
• Lower Hudson River
Offers Lazy River Tubing float trips, where you drift along a lazy river ending with a beautiful portage around Rockwell Falls (an S.O.C. exclusive). Or, for a more wild ride, enjoy the Hudson River Gorge – summer class 3 all day rafting or inflatable kayak on a 17 mile wilderness trip through the heart of the Adirondacks.
Directions to S.O.C. from Lake George: Take I-87 to Exit 21 in Lake George. Follow Route 9N South 10.7 miles to Lake Luzerne. At the only traffic light, turn right onto Bay Road. Take your next left onto Bridge Street. Cross the bridge and our Whitewater Headquarters is in the first building on your left.
