    Revisit History in the Lake George Region! Experience historical events, discover life in a bygone era, and engage in conversations & discussions about the past. If this peaks your interest, it’s essential that you take advantage of this weekend’s historical happenings – from The French and Indian War Reenactment in Bolton Landing and Scots Day at Fort Ticonderoga – to historical discussions & book signings at TREES… not to mention the ever popular historical attractions, museums, tours and drives that this region has to offer.

    The French and Indian War Reenactment & Activities in Bolton Landing:

    Sat., June 16  & Sun., June 17, 2012 – learn about life 18th Century life in Bolton Landing and how this region, located directly on Lake George, became a tactical meeting point for the French troops as they strived for power & control on the water in order to push forward onto Fort William Henry. Throughout the day, your family will enjoy a variety of activities depicting 18th century living including: cooking, carpentry, weapons, colonial dance, sutlers & merchants selling clothing & tools, children’s activities, and not to mention the important Battle Reenactments. All day activities from 10AM-6PM in Rogers’ Memorial Park. Reenactments are at 2PM each day. Visit Bolton Chamber of Commerce website for more information.

    Scots Day at Fort Ticonderoga:

    Sat., June 16, 2012 – embrace Scottish military, culture and heritage, and learn about the soldiers who served in the perimeter battles around Ticonderoga through a variety of activities at the Fort including: touring Scottish clan tents & vendors, listening to stories of Scottish soldiers serving in British Army, experiencing bagpipe bands, fife & drum performances, re-enactors, procession of Black Watch Cairn, demonstrations, and guided tours around the Fort.     Book Signings and Discussion of French and Indian War with Local Historians:

    Sat., June 16, 2012 – TREES Adirondack Gifts and Books in Bolton Landing will be hosting a book signing and discussion with questions & answers on the French and Indian War with local historians and authors, Captain Scott A Padeni and Dr. Russell Bellico. Captain Scott A. Padeni is the Master and Historical Narrator for Shoreline Cruises on Lake George. His friend, Dr. Russell Bellico is author to many books on the history of Lake George and Lake Champlain that deal heavily with the French and Indian War. Begins at 6PM.
