• March Maple Madness!

    March 10th, 2011
    Lazy River Tubing

Everyone loves nature’s sweetest gift… maple syrup! This delicious treat is not only purely natural, but its made right here in the Lake George Region! Our own sugar maple trees provide us with this sweet goodness, and you can find out how it does – during this month of March. March is Maple Sugaring month. Maple trees are tapped and the sap is collected and then boiled to make pure maple sugar (and maple syrup). Experience this process by visiting various sap and sugar houses in the Lake George region on the weekends! Up Yonda Farm Environmental Education Center in Bolton Landing, as well as various Thurman/Athol maple farms and sugar houses offer tours, demonstrations, samplings, shopping and more! For more information on touring these regional sap and sugar houses, be sure to click here.
